Happy New Year
Dear parents and well wishers,
At the very outset of the new year, I would like to wish you all a very Happy and Prosperous New Year 2012 and God's abundant blessings on every endeavour of yours' throughout the year. May God bless you all.
I was there the other day in St Joseph's Co-ed School, Kolar Branch for their Annual Day. The Principal, Fr Solomon and the Staff, together staged an extravaganza, beyond one's imagination, making primary class students to exhibit their inherent talents and to feel that they are no less than anyone. The programme and the determination with which they presented it marks the quality of education the Christian missionaries impart to the students! The school has picked up so well in a short period of four years or so and progressed in leaps and bounds. We feel proud of them all as a part of this very institution and wish them all the best for the future.
A little thought flashed my mind as I was watching the programme on the very same day, sitting in the open, bone-biting cold. The brain had practically frozen and stopped thinking but the mind was still functioning and therefore I think, genuine! The theme of the programme was 'My India My dream'. I could see and feel the theme running throughout the programme making the children responsible for all that we are and inspiring them to live and die for our mother land. It depicted the atrocities and challenges that our country faces, and I said to myself, It is the missionary schools that still keep the light of patriotism in the hearts and minds of people of our country alive, when there is so much of push and pull as to what text needs to be taught and with unwanted interference at various levels.
We, though a trivial minority, do educate more than sixty five thousand children in four districts of the Archdiocese of Bhopal, making secular, responsible and morally strong citizens of India. Though at times people with vested interests do point an accusing finger at us, don't you think that if there is still a sense of secular patriotism in the young minds, it is also due to the missionary education to a great extend? May God help us to go ahead with the same enthusiasm and true spirit of Patriotism.
Increment in the Tuition Fees
As you are all aware that we have not increased any of the fees for the past four years, even though we started paying the Sixth Pay to the employees, we are now compelled to hike the tuition fees a little. It would be nothing more than ten percent of the present tuition fees or so. I shall let you know the exact amount after the Managing Committing Meeting due in March.
I wish you all the very best and God's blessings,
Dr Fr Johnney P. J.
